Commercial Irrigation Technician

Job Description
The Commercial Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems for commercial properties such as office parks, retail centers, HOA communities, municipal facilities, and industrial sites. This role ensures proper water distribution, system efficiency, and compliance with local water regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose, and repair irrigation systems (sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, wiring, backflow devices).Troubleshoot electrical issues related to irrigation timers and control systems.Program and adjust irrigation controllers based on seasonal needs.Identify and repair leaks, broken lines, and pressure issues.Perform system audits to ensure water efficiency and coverage.Install new irrigation systems or system upgrades as needed.Maintain detailed service records and document repairs.Coordinate with property managers and supervisors regarding system needs.Ensure compliance with local water restrictions and regulations.Operate tools and equipment safely. QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.2+ years irrigation experience preferred.Knowledge of irrigation system components and layout.Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.Valid driver's license required.Backflow certification (preferred or required depending on state).Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Skills & CompetenciesStrong problem-solving ability.Attention to detail.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Time management and route efficiency.Knowledge of water conservation practices.
