Machinery Reliability Engineer I to Senior
Description
This position will be responsible for supporting approximately 600 rotating equipment trains, pumps, compressors (reciprocating & centrifugal), chillers, turbines and fans. Responsible for reliability engineering relating to all sizes and types of rotating equipment such as ANSI/API pumps, centrifugal compressors, cooling tower fans and pumps, gear boxes, turbines and motors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Monitoring equipment performance and making recommendations to improve reliability and reduce cost
Cost estimating and engineering proposals for corrective or preventative maintenance
Technical oversight on equipment installation; review of spare parts; conducting root cause failure analysis
Lead on machinery management of changes; analyze bad actors & repeat failures
Leads the machinery reliability improvement team
Update and maintain assigned maintenance procedures
Identify, track and report on assigned key performance indicators
Provides technical support to operations, maintenance, or other departments as necessary
Up to date on new technology and equipment and evaluating its application
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years related experience in the refining or petrochemicals industry
Strong knowledge of engineering codes/standards and best practices related to rotating machinery
Experience working with operating processes, equipment and materials of construction is a plus
Ability to effectively evaluate equipment performance and identify problems
Experience with small projects and failure analysis methods
Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are also highly desired
