The hospital serves individuals from Roanoke, Salem, New Castle, and surrounding areas of Southwest Virginia. It delivers recovery-oriented behavioral health services and supports the education and training of behavioral health professionals, including those in nursing, social work, psychology, and related clinical fields.This position is responsible for performing a wide range of environmental services within a healthcare facility, including cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas, administrative spaces, treatment areas, and residential units in accordance with established infection control standards. Duties include routine and deep cleaning using approved chemicals and industrial equipment, maintaining sanitation of medical and patient-use equipment, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and bloodborne pathogen regulations. The role also involves proper handling and disposal of trash, recycling, soiled linens, and infectious waste, as well as maintaining required documentation for cleaning and disinfection activities. Additional responsibilities include supporting facility safety and security through proper communication, safe equipment and supply handling, furniture movement and event setup, and specialized cleaning of isolation rooms. For supervisory roles, responsibilities include performance management, staff development, evaluation compliance, and workplace safety oversight.Minimum QualificationsProficient in use of cleaning equipment and supplies, including the preventive maintenance of equipment. Knowledge and application of cleaning instructions according to policies and procedures.
