Construction Project Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to join our team and help drive the successful execution of complex construction projects. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between project management, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in construction management software, project scheduling, and site coordination will be instrumental in delivering outstanding results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale developments while honing your skills in construction engineering.
This position is a traveling position where you will be onsite with the project, for the duration of the project, with rotating days off.
Duties
Monitor submittal/shop drawing schedule that interlaces with the project master schedule to ensure that the approval agent receives all submittals in time for proper review.
Review each submittal and shop drawing for compliance with the contract documents. Ensure that the record as-builts drawings are current and in compliance with the contract documents.
Monitor the progress of construction as it relates to the schedule and to inform the Superintendent and Project Manager of any deviation from the schedule.
Review in conjunction with Administration all cost proposals under the direction of the Project Manager.
Monitor with the Superintendent and Project Manager CPM, schedule status, projected costs and variance reports, labor projections and overall assessment of the status of the project.
Document all damages and delays for possible use in preparation of extension requests, claims, or litigation. Preserve the company's claim rights by adherence to applicable notification provisions in the contract documents.
Assis in the project closeout, including preparation of Guaranty/Warranty Manuals, Operations and Maintenance Manuals and As-Built drawings.
Fully Understand the contract documents and ensure that any divergence from these documents' id formally approved and incorporates into the final documents.
Actively assist in the preparation of and subsequent revisions to the project CPM schedule.
Responsible for the procurement and delivery of all long lead items in accordance with the project schedule. Make recommendations to the PM for any discrepancies in these schedules.
Monitor project insurance compliance.
Documentation of major coordination and planning meetings as directed by Project Manager.
Actively assist in the preparation of Additional Work Authorization and Back charges.
Facilitate communication among stakeholders, including clients, contractors, subcontractors.
Proven experience in construction management or as a construction project engineer with a strong background in heavy civil or commercial projects.
Demonstrated proficiency withproject scheduling and planning.
Familiarity with construction site operations and safety standards gained through previous site experience.
Strong knowledge of contracts administration, change management, and construction principles.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for clear coordination across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
