Structural Engineer

MDEP is hiring a structural engineer in the State of California, with an experience working with all structural materials. Field and management experience is preferred, with the ability to coordinate with clients at all levels of a design/construction project. Responsibilities Manage the design of structures using all of the main building materials, with a precise and creative approach. Perform construction administration services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and specialized structural observations. Collaborate with architects, designers, and building contractors for efficient value-engineering and control of the structural elements of projects. Qualifications Bachelor of Science from an accredited university in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures required 5 years of experience in structural engineering PE/SE Certification preferred Proficient use of RISA 3D, SAP, Revit, or similar software to perform structural analysis Detailed experience designing steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures for all sectors. Experience analyzing mechanical equipment support and anchorage for seismic and wind regions. Responsible charge-level knowledge of building codes, structural standards, and jurisdiction requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills MDEP is an equal opportunity employer.
