SmallHD products are known for their durability, premium display quality, and incredible user interface.What will I be doing?You will ensure that the quality department is operating in a way that is conducive to SmallHD meeting product quality standards. This includes the quality of incoming materials, assemblies in progress, and finished goods.Compensation: $60K - $70K per year. Onsite.A Typical Day Might Include The FollowingEstablishing procedures and practices to meet quality standards and reduce scrapWorking with vendors to ensure they are meeting agreed-upon quality and that they have the necessary tools to do soCollaborating with Operations teams to ensure that final product quality is inspected timely and meets quality standardsCollaborating with engineering and service teams to determine root causes of failuresOverseeing the day-to-day activities of the Quality teamReview and correct timesheets for payroll processingManage time-off requests to ensure that adequate staffing is available at all timesEnsure that department inventory is accurate by establishing procedures and ensuring the team is working within those guidelinesUse computer systems and written documentation to inspect, measure, or test the item to ensure it is ready for assemblyAnalyze data, create spreadsheets to share analysis, identify trends, and determine plans for improvementUse tools such as calipers and gaugesFollow safe handling guidelines for sensitive electronics and ensure your team follows suitMake electrical connections and operate test equipmentConsistently and accurately describe any defects foundQualified Candidates Must Have5+ years of quality inspection roles.Experience in electronics manufacturing is a strong plus.Reading mechanical and electrical Engineering specifications and drawings to determine critical dimensions or features for inspection.Creating inspection and test procedures from existing templates.Developing new methods and procedures from scratch.Communicating issues clearly and unambiguously to co- workers and material vendors through written documentation.Managing rework/replacement/retest activities.Troubleshooting and simple repairs of test equipment (e.g, replacing cables).Experience in a supervisory role preferredMore Important Information For YouThis position is based in the Cary, NC officeReporting to Operations ManagerThis position is full-timeWhy SmallHD?Unlimited PTO, 13 Paid Holidays and 5 days of sick leaveGreat people, great work environmentHealth Insurance (incl.dental and vision)401(k) MatchingFun events throughout the yearA fast-growing company with room to growOur brands are leaders in defensible niche markets in terms of premium products, technology innovation and/or market share.Our products typically attached to, or support, a camera - primarily for broadcast, cinematic, video, photographic and smartphone applications.
