Location: Austin, TX or Houston, TXOur client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to serve as the mechanical design lead for large-scale industrial and manufacturing infrastructure projects. This role sits within the client's in-house EPC team and owns mechanical design from concept through IFC, supporting fast-paced, high-impact builds.ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design for HVAC and process systems, including wet (chilled/cooling water) and dry (air/exhaust) systemsOwn design development from concept, permitting, and IFC construction drawingsInterface with external EPC partners to ensure designs meet engineering standardsMake independent engineering decisions and provide technical direction to internal and third-party engineersPresent designs at 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC design reviewsSupport quantity take-offs and high-level cost estimatesMentor junior engineers and communicate effectively across cross-functional teamsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringActive Professional Engineer (PE) with NCEES record (or ability to obtain TX license)10+ years of HVAC and mechanical/process systems design experienceBackground in industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or high-tech facilitiesStrong knowledge of mechanical systems (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, etc.)Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, ICC, NFPA, ASME)Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and HVAC load software
