We support them in the steps necessary to achieve those goals in the most cost-effective manner possible.We are seeking a college planner at our Springfield, MO office - someone who will work collaboratively with a team to provide direct college planning to high school students through individual meetings. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dedicated to the needs of our clients, and willing to learn and execute a proven system for delivering college planning.Academic College Planning Advisor Key ResponsibilitiesDelivering effective meetings with students to educate and empower them on how to navigate the college process using Class 101 curriculum.Encouraging, motivating and keeping students on track as they progress through the college admissions process.Serving as a reliable source for students and familiesMeeting deadlines for submitting applicationsGuiding students through the essay writing process to create and refine main, supplemental, honors, and scholarship essaysSkills And RequirementsUndergraduate degree in an applicable field of study, including business, education, and social sciences, or equivalent related career experienceAbility to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekendsExcellent relationship-building skills, particularly with teenagersStrong organizational skillsAbility to learn and execute a proven systemAbility to meet deadlinesExperience with and a willingness to lead a classroom setting, facilitating classroom learning for up to 20 studentsStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe successful applicant will be comfortable using technology. At a minimum the applicant should be adept using web browsers and MS Office suite applications, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPointExperience with social media and social media marketing is a plusCompensation: $22.00 - $28.00 per hourOur mission is to provide families with expert guidance on the college search, admissions, and financial aid process.
