Data Platform Operations Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)Location: Hybrid in Bloomington, MN (local candidates only)We're seeking a Data Platform Operations Engineer to support and scale Azure-based data environments. This role focuses on deploying, automating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure while ensuring reliability, security, and performance across the data platform.Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy and manage Azure data platform resources and landing zonesAutomate infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions required)Maintain system stability, performance, and security across cloud environmentsTroubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvementsCollaborate with engineering teams to support data workflows and platform needsCreate and maintain clear technical documentation and operational processesRequired Qualifications2+ years hands-on Azure cloud deployment experience2+ years Terraform provisioning experienceStrong experience with GitHub Actions (required)Solid understanding of Azure networking (VNETs, subnets, private endpoints)Strong data platform knowledge and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation skills (critical for success in this role)Experience with DevOps practices and cloud automationPreferred ExperienceDatabricks, PostgreSQL, or other database technologiesAzure CLI, monitoring tools, or CI/CD toolingAI tools such as Copilot or Azure AI Studio/HubAgile/Scrum environmentsAdditional DetailsHybrid work environment with some on-site expectationsParticipation in an on-call rotation
