Healthcare Data Architect – Payer Domain📍 Location: Hybrid – Philadelphia Area💼 Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire🕒 Experience Required: 10+ YearsAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Healthcare Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing healthcare data platforms. This role will focus on building modern data ecosystems across Data Warehouses and Data Lakes while supporting enterprise analytics, interoperability, and data-driven business initiatives.The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in healthcare payer systems, healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7), cloud data platforms, and enterprise data architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable healthcare data architectures supporting enterprise analytics and operational reporting.Build secure and efficient data solutions across Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and cloud environments.Develop logical, physical, and conceptual data models for healthcare data domains including Claims, Clinical, Member, Provider, and EHR data.Lead healthcare interoperability initiatives using standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCDs, HIE, and USCDI.Collaborate with business teams, data analysts, engineers, and leadership to align data strategies with organizational objectives.Establish and maintain data governance, security, compliance, and data quality frameworks aligned with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.Optimize data integration pipelines and real-time data access for improved performance and scalability.Evaluate and recommend modern data technologies, integration tools, and cloud solutions.Drive innovation and best practices in healthcare data management and analytics.Required Skills & Experience10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, preferably within the healthcare industry.Strong expertise with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.Hands-on experience with healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL, Python, and PySpark.Experience with enterprise data modeling tools such as Erwin.Expertise with data integration and ETL tools including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka, Informatica, or IBM DataStage.Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and healthcare compliance standards.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and lead complex technical initiatives.Preferred QualificationsExperience designing enterprise-scale healthcare data platforms.Experience working with healthcare payer systems and HEDIS reporting.Knowledge of Epic, Cerner, or other major EHR systems.Experience with Snowflake and modern cloud-native data solutions.
