Medical Equipment Technician / Customer Service Representative (CSR) 📍 LocationIndianapolis, IN AND Columbus, IN (local travel required) Overview We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Medical Equipment Technician to support patients using sleep PAP and other durable medical equipment (DME). This role combines hands-on equipment delivery, patient education, and strong customer service to ensure patients receive safe, effective care in their home. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to patients using sleep PAP and other DME equipmentDeliver, set up, and maintain medical equipment in patient homes, including oxygen systemsEducate customers on the proper use, care, and maintenance of respiratory and HME equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, including urgent/emergency situationsComplete accurate patient visit documentation and reports following setup and follow-upsMaintain inventory and ensure all equipment deliveries meet service goals and timelinesProcess orders accurately and in a timely mannerPromote company products and services to referral sources within the communityPerform routine preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairsConduct patient assessments and re-assessments as neededEnsure complete and accurate documentation for reimbursement purposesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance programsAdhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirementsMaintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulationsSafely operate and maintain a company vehicleParticipate in on-call rotation as requiredTravel throughout the service area to support patient needs Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent1+ year of experience working with DME and customer service preferred2–3 years of face-to-face customer service experience strongly preferredExperience in healthcare, delivery services with a sales component, or military training is a plusValid, unrestricted driver’s licenseStrong communication skills with an emphasis on empathy, professionalism, and respectAbility to work independently and manage a territory effectivelyBasic understanding of reimbursement processes is a plus Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75–85 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbsFrequent bending, stooping, crouching, and handling of equipmentAbility to sit and drive for extended periodsDaily travel between warehouse and patient homesExposure to varying home environments, including unsanitary conditions at timesPossible exposure to hazardous materials, loud environments, and extreme temperaturesMay encounter difficult customer situationsMust be able to access patient residences independently Work Environment Field-based role with frequent local travelCombination of warehouse visits and in-home patient supportFast-paced environment with varying workload demands throughout the day Additional Requirements Ability to follow all safety, PPE, and infection control proceduresCompletion of required compliance training and ongoing educationWillingness to assist with equipment cleaning and maintenance when needed Why Join Us?
