For more information reference the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement: Collective Bargaining AgreementsBenefits offered for this opportunity: AFSCME Benefits SummaryThe City of Ann Arbor offers a competitive wage and benefits package including medical, vision, dental, paid vacation, sick and holiday leave.Essential DutiesEnforcing parking and Community Standards ordinance violations within the CityInvestigating complaints of parking and Community Standards ordinance violationsIssuing warnings to ensure properties are compliant with City Community Standards ordinancesMaintaining and tabulating a daily log of activitiesDocumenting all parking and Community Standards ordinance violationsWorking cooperatively with residents and property owners by explaining actions required to comply with Community Standards ordinancesImpounding vehicles for outstanding parking violations, obstructing public places or other infractionsParticipating with community associations and merchants to develop effective enforcement and prevention programs for parking and Community Standards ordinance complianceRelated WorkPreparing necessary reports of inspectionsAttending and testifying in court and at administrative proceedings concerning parking or Community Standards ordinance violationsResponding to citizen inquiries in an efficient and timely mannerTraining & Experience Required:High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)At least 2 years of proven customer service experiencePreferredAssociates Degree in Criminal Justice or at least 62 completed credit hours in related fieldLicensing RequirementsValid MI driver's licensePhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
