Staff Software Engineer - Testing Tools and Frameworks

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Testing Tools and Frameworks to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.This role will focus on advancing the testing infrastructure that supports engineering productivity, quality, and delivery across the organization. You will partner closely with business and engineering stakeholders to understand testing complexity and build scalable solutions that improve reliability and speed. The position also involves creating reusable tools, libraries, and frameworks that help multiple teams work more effectively while mentoring others and driving technical innovation.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $105,000 – $260,000 annuallyResponsibilities Collaborate with business and engineering teams to assess testing complexity Enhance test frameworks by developing extensions, plugins, and fixtures Prototype new testing tools and methodologies Create new libraries to connect different teams and services Develop useful tools such as Excel Addons and data sanitation services Mentor junior engineers to promote a culture of innovation Stay informed on industry trends to keep delivery processes cutting-edgeQualifications 8+ years of experience in software testing and performance/load testing Deep expertise in test framework internals, specifically Pytest, Playwright, and TestNG Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Go, Node, Java, or Python Strong Linux system administration and shell scripting skills Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration Highly desirable: experience developing large-scale performance test rigs for K6 Strong communication and teamwork abilitiesBenefits Contribute to a high-impact team in a fast-paced environment Opportunities for professional growth and mentoring Work on innovative tools and frameworks Engage with a variety of technical challenges Be part of a technology-driven culture focused on continuous improvementOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
