Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
General Description of Job: Responsible for translating customer prints and PO expectations into machine code, set-up sheets, plots, router planning and BOM’s. Back up for project engineers.
Essential Job Tasks: Develop CAD and code for use at major machines. Detail plots for control and to support major machine set-up and function. Miscellaneous Engineering and Manufacturing support as directed by engineering manager.
Other Job Tasks: Provide support and troubleshooting as needed and as requested. Create drawings in lieu of customer documentation or to support customer samples.
Reports to: Engineering Manager.
Supervises: None
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
· 5 years Manufacturing experience preferably in precision sheet metal.
· Working knowledge of Solidworks modeling / drafting and detailing.
· Knows general CNC programming – G-code.
· Sheetmetal flat pattern development skills.
· Can read and interpret drawings, including GD&T.
· Knowledge of general inspection tools and their applications.
· Engineering background and or degree.
· Knowledge of welding applications.
· Shop experience – running punch, laser or brake.
· Good oral and written communication.
· General computer skills.
Amount of Supervision Required to Perform Job: Minimal. Programmers must be able to prioritize different tasks and troubleshoot problems in a timely fashion, with production requirements always in mind.
Machines and Tools Used: Computing Hardware and Software, Quality Department measuring equipment as needed.
Environmental Factors and Working Conditions: Air conditioned office environment.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
