Packaging Mechanic Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment to ensure efficient production operations. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting daily production through preventative and corrective maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance on packaging machinery and equipmentTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsDiagnose equipment failures and complete timely repairs to minimize downtimeMaintain and repair packaging lines, including conveyors, fillers, labelers, sealers, and palletizersConduct routine inspections of equipment to identify wear, defects, or potential issuesInstall, adjust, and calibrate packaging equipment for optimal performanceRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manualsMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usageCollaborate with production teams to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtimeEnsure compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO)QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or packaging mechanic in a manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience with packaging equipment such as fillers, wrappers, conveyors, or labeling machinesAbility to read and interpret technical documents and schematicsFamiliarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practicesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailJob Type & LocationThis is a permanent position based out of Elmwood Park, NJ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
