Follow us at: LER TechForce on LinkedInWhat you will be doing:Design, implement, and validate embedded software for rugged, industrial wireless control systems used in heavy equipment and safety-critical environmentsWork spans platform bring-up through application features, with close collaboration across hardware, RF, compliance, and manufacturing teamsDevelop firmware (C/C++, RTOS/Linux) including bootloader, BSP, device drivers, and application logicDevelop in C/C++ on RTOS and/or embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot) targets; contribute to device trees, kernel modules, and HALs where neededImplement and document wired/wireless interfaces (CAN/J1939, UART, SPI, I2C; Bluetooth where applicable); integrate with RF and baseband teamsApply coding standards and peer reviews; participate in design and module testing aligned with R&D programming standardsCreate verification plans; automate unit/integration tests; support environmental/EMC/functional tests in the lab; triage field issues with production and service teamsContribute to secure-by-design and functional safety lifecycle activities (requirements, architecture, verification, validation, documentation), including safety requirements, verification evidence, traceability, and safety analysesCollaborate with hardware, RF, mechanical, and compliance teamsWhat you'll need to be successful:Essential:Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering (or equivalent practical experience3+ years of experience developing embedded software in C/C++; demonstrated experience with low-level drivers and real-time constraintsHands-on debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, and profilers; strong problem-solving and ownersApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring sponsorshipPreferred:Experience with Yocto, bootloaders, kernel configuration, device trees, and OTA/secure update mechanismsIndustrial communications (CAN/J1939, PROFINET), diagnostics, and robust fault handlingFamiliarity with RF-adjacent embedded systems, EMC/EMI, environmental testing, and product certification workflows (FCC/RED/UL/NEC, IEC/EN)Exposure to safety or secure development practices across the product lifecycle (e.g., requirements to architecture to V&V to field maintenanceWhat you'll get:Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, HSA and FSA401K with a match and immediate vestingShort-term and Long-term disability, life insurance and other optional benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee DiscountsOngoing professional development opportunities including Technical Training and Leadership DevelopmentThe opportunity to work on industry leading projects
