Plant Operator

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems. Monitor plant operations and make appropriate adjustments, hands on operation of plant equipment and for continued development of knowledge in plant equipment and systems. Observe the conditions of the plant equipment and report mechanical/operational problems to supervisor.Responsibilities:Performing daily facility and equipment readings and checksNavigate and utilize the plant operations manualComplete all required environmental, health, and safety training and comply with regulations including necessary documentation and reportingContinue to become familiar with plant drawings and schematicsPerform routine sampling and testingParticipate in plant process hazard analysis meetingsRead meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditionsAdjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipmentVisually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubricationPerform minor preventative maintenance on plant equipmentQualifications:Minimum 1 year of related experience requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentThe ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
