Grocery Clerk - Full Time Whole Foods Co-Op Posted 2 days ago, valid for a monthDuluth, MN 55805, US$15.70 - $15.70 per hourFull TimeThe Grocery Clerk position is located in Hillside, Duluth, MN, and is a full-time role with a salary of $15.70 per hour.Candidates are expected to provide friendly customer service while maintaining stock and displays in the grocery department.Essential duties include stocking products, taking inventory, and assisting customers with their inquiries.The position requires basic computer skills, outstanding customer service abilities, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.Preferred candidates will have experience in retail or grocery, and the job requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.Grocery Clerks provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service while assisting customers and fellow staff in supporting Grocery operations. They also keep displays, coolers and shelves fully stocked and to meet department goals for sales, margin, labor, and customer service.Stock, rotate and arrange products correctly following established merchandising and handling procedures.Maintain an organized back stock of product and supplies throughout shift per procedures.Take inventory of department, stock for buyers as requested.Notify buyers of out-of-stock items.Pull short-date or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing of them.Ensure that shelf tags and signs are properly placed and in good condition.Accept orders from vendors as needed, notify buyer of problems with quality or damage.Sort deliveries and verify counts according to established practices.Assist in training new staff on established systems.Assist customers in finding product and/or information, promptly and courteously answer and accurately route phone calls, messages, and customer requests in compliance with established practices.As directed, move into back stock, rotate, stage, stock and/or merchandise products in accordance with shift criteria.Achieve WFC customer service standards for internal and external customers.Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment to support WFCs ENDS.Abide by all WFC policies and procedures.Engage in creating and maintaining a positive, ethical, and productive workplace that contributes to achieving progress on WFCs ENDS.Follow and ensure compliance with all safety practices and policies.Maintain compliance with all regulatory guidance including but not limited to Minnesota Department of Agriculture and National Organic Standards.Achieve daily operational goals as directed by your supervisor.Maintain cleanliness of department areas and equipment and communicate and document any equipment maintenance and/or safety concerns to department management.Report any problems with systems, tools and/or products to department supervisors.Promote ownership and owner benefits consistently and positively.Perform other tasks as assigned by department management.Experience in retail, grocery, natural foods and/or cooperative businessAvailable to work evenings, weekends, holidaysBasic computer literacy including familiarity with using a web browser and emailAbility to occasionally move up to 50 lbs. throughout shiftAbility to frequently move objects up to 15 lbs. throughout shiftAbility to move around the premises throughout shiftAbility to remain in a stationary position for long periods of timeAbility to scan and bag groceriesAbility to operate position-required machineryAbility to safely use sharp cutting instrumentsOccasional Exposure: Outdoor weather conditionsFrequent Exposure: Handling wet, hot, cold, and/or frozen productsChange in room temperatureUsing store cleaning suppliesCarts, pallets, and hand-trucks moving in and out of storage/retail areasConstant Exposure: Background music and in-store pagesFood odors, grain and spice dust, food allergens
