Don't miss out - apply today and start your journey with Team Apex!Job SummaryThe primary function of the Associate Design Engineer is to support the Engineering team in the design and documentation of custom industrial water treatment and process equipment. Using SolidWorks on a daily basis, the Associate Design Engineer will create and revise 3D models, piece part drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). The Associate Design Engineer will also assist with generating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), preparing customer and production drawing packages, and collaborating with manufacturing and senior engineers to ensure designs are accurately translated into finished equipment. This role provides excellent exposure to custom machinery design, industrial piping systems, and project-based engineering in a fast-paced manufacturing environment! Essential Job ResponsibilitiesCreate and revise 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorksGenerate documents and control drawings using SolidWorks?Prepare and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)Support preparation of customer-facing drawing packages and submittalsDevelop internal production drawings for manufacturing and purchasingWork with vendors to gather technical information on purchased componentsRespond to questions from production and assembly personnel regarding drawings and specificationsInteract with and provide guidance to third party design resourcesParticipate in design reviews and collaborate with senior engineersAssist with engineering changes and drawing revisionsMaintain accurate engineering files and documentationAdhere to and support all company safety policies and guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fieldBasic proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD softwareProficiency with Microsoft OfficeStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsWillingness to learn and accept feedback from senior engineers and project managersEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computerWillingness to cross-train and support other engineering functions as neededPreferred QualificationsPrior internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or water treatmentExperience with Microsoft VisioFamiliarity with P&IDs, industrial piping systems, and mechanical assembliesExposure to ERP systems and BOM managementAn offer of employment at Apex Water and Process is subject to a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
