If you have experience with truck maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair—especially with ready-mix or heavy equipment—we want to hear from you!You will perform general maintenance and repair ready-mix trucks, ensuring equipment reliability and safe operation. The role focuses on conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and responding promptly to service requests. You will also help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment while collaborating with team members and leadership to keep equipment in top working condition.What you will be doingInstall, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manualsInspect and listen to machines to identify causes of malfunctions and determine necessary repairsDiagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performanceCommunicate promptly and effectively with shop leadership regarding major issues and repair updatesOperate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve or service downed assetsPerform daily preventive maintenance on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, fluid checks, and tire / light inspectionsService and maintain pumps, motors, and related components as neededWeld, repair, and fabricate metal parts or assemblies as requiredPurchase repair parts and materials as needed to complete maintenance tasksProvide on-site service support at other BURNCO plants or job sites when requiredAssist in training and mentoring co-workers to ensure consistent maintenance practicesMaintain clean and organized work areas at all timesFollow all BURNCO safety policies, procedures, and operational standardsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedWhat we would like from youMinimum of one year of truck mechanic experience requiredSolid understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practicesSkilled in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and appropriate safety devicesKnowledge of standard maintenance procedures, including lockout / tagout and special work permitsProficient with computers and maintenance-related software systemsExperience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software preferredMust be able to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in EnglishMust supply personal tools up to 3⁄4-inch driveDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentHigh school diploma is considered an assetExperience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks preferredLocation and other key details:This is a full-time permanent field-based position located at our Kiowa Plant 8750 Alan Ridge Rd, Kiowa, CO 80117.Regular outdoor work with exposure to a range of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snowUse of fine motor skills such as manual dexterity, hand / eye coordination, and active hearing and visionStanding, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling as neededRegular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materialsRequired to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, and glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairsThis is a safety-sensitive position requiring successful completion of PSP, MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug testTravel to various jobs required as neededSalary Range: $ 28 and up based on experienceWhy BURNCO?Be part of a supportive, high-performing team that values your growth and successEnjoy competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and moreExperience our inclusive, collaborative, and safety-focused cultureTake part in team events, professional development activities, and community initiativesJoin us and be part of an organization that values safety above all.
