DescriptionHS Science Teacher - Beech Grove City SchoolsREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalQUALIFICATIONS:Must hold a valid High School-level Indiana teaching license/certification in General SciencePreference given to candidates with certification in multiple science disciplines RESPONSIBILITIES:Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learningEstablish clear expectations for student behavior in a climate of fairness and respectPlan, prepare, and deliver instruction that encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativityUtilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needsCollaborate with Science Department colleagues to design lessons aligned with Indiana State Standards and Employability Skills StandardsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records for grades and attendanceUse both formative and summative assessments to guide instructionCommunicate effectively with parents, counselors, administration, and other stakeholders regarding student progressIntegrate technology to enhance instruction and student learningDemonstrate punctuality, reliability, and appropriate student supervisionParticipate in professional development opportunitiesImplement and adhere to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and Behavior Intervention PlansPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Seldom = Less than 25 % 2. Occasional = 26 to 50 %3. Often = 51 to 75 % 4. Very Frequent = 76 % & aboveAbility to stand for extended periods of time. (4)Ability to lift 25 lbs. (1)Ability to carry 25 lbs.(2)Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. (4)Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. (4)Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. (4)Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. (4)Ability to operate office equipment. (4)Ability to reach in all directions.
