Luxcom is a New York based fine jewelry company with a large online presence across major marketplaces and retailers. We work with domestic suppliers, international partners, and our own in-house production to bring a wide assortment of fine jewelry to market. Our team is small, fast paced, and highly collaborative. We work closely together and handle beautiful product daily.
We are looking for an entry-level team member with a strong interest in fine jewelry and a very detail oriented working style. This role involves hands-on product handling, cataloging, vendor coordination, and production support. Over time, the role expands into one of two career tracks. This position is on-site in our NYC office with a daily start time of 10 or 11 am and end time of 6 or 7 pm.
Role Overview
The Jewelry Product Coordinator will work directly with our president and our VP of Production. You will manage the full process of onboarding new jewelry into our catalog and assist with both production and merchandising tasks. You will handle finished jewelry, castings, loose diamonds, and all physical product that enters the business for cataloging.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with product, thrives in a fast paced environment, and wants long-term growth in merchandising or production management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cataloging and Product Setup (Primary Responsibility)
You will manage the start to finish process of preparing new items to list online.
Receiving and Intake
Receive new pieces from vendors and production
Verify components, stone counts, metal type, and measurements
Log items into internal systems
Ensure the listing matches the physical item with complete accuracy
Catalog Setup
Create new SKUs and enter all product specifications
Perform QA to confirm the physical sample and listing information match
Identify missing details and obtain them from vendors when needed
Photography and Video Coordination
Work with our full-time photographer to ensure all new items are shot
Make sure all required angles are captured and nothing is missed
Capture basic product videos in a GemLightBox
Assist with file naming and file organization
Over time, review retouched images to ensure they accurately reflect the physical piece
Cross-Team Communication
Communicate with vendors to obtain missing product information
Coordinate with our back office team in India to complete and finalize listings
Track each item through the process until it is fully cataloged and ready to publish
2. Production Support (Made to Order)
You will assist our VP of Production with made-to-order pieces that are assembled in our NYC office.
Source loose stones and castings for orders
Drop items off with contractors and pick them up
Track timelines and ensure components are ready
Help assemble finished goods for shipment
Support various production tasks as needed during busy periods
No bench jewelry experience is required. Coordination, organization, and follow-through are more important.
3. Merchandising and Production Growth Tracks
Early on, your work will support both merchandising and production. You will help schedule vendor meetings, take notes, organize trays, track selections, and manage follow-up.
Once you have mastered cataloging and production support, the role expands into one of two career tracks based on your strengths and interests.
Growth Path Option 1: Merchandising Track
For those who enjoy product selection, trend awareness, and developing assortments.
As you grow, you will:
Participate in vendor meetings with leadership
Review new styles and samples
Track and organize product selections
Manage follow-through on chosen items
Help build the product pipeline for future seasons
This track typically opens after 12 to 18 months of strong performance.
Growth Path Option 2: Production Management Track
For those who enjoy operational workflows, efficiency, and building product from concept to completion.
As you grow, you will eventually:
Take ownership of made-to-order and replenishment production
Work with manufacturers and local contractors
Partner with our merchandiser on new styles and development timelines
Work with loose diamond vendors and component suppliers
Manage production calendars and QC checkpoints
Review costs and help optimize margins
Help bring new styles from concept to finished piece
This track leads into a future Production Manager role once you have the experience and capability to oversee production independently.
General Support Responsibilities
Assist with shipping during peak holiday seasons
Support the team with ad hoc tasks during busy periods
Help maintain product and photography workflow organization
Pitch in wherever needed in a small and collaborative team environment
What We Are Looking For
Ideally 1 to 2 years of jewelry industry experience but not required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable handling finished jewelry, castings, and loose diamonds
Highly organized and able to manage many moving parts
Strong communication skills with vendors and internal teams
Comfortable in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities
Willing to perform repetitive tasks early on as you learn the business

Pay: $44,349.80 - $49,432.01 per year
