Director of Electrical Engineering | Building Systems & Infrastructure

Lead and grow an electrical engineering practice across complex, high-impact projectsWe are seeking a PE-licensed Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the design, delivery, and growth of an electrical engineering practice within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. This role oversees complex commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, mixed-use, and government projects while guiding team leadership, technical excellence, and client relationships.Role and ResponsibilitiesLead and grow the electrical engineering team, including staffing and mentorship.Oversee the design and delivery of complex electrical systems projects.Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and provide technical leadership across projects.Coordinate with architecture, structural, civil, and MEP teams.Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and related industry standards.Support project planning, budgets, schedules, and resource management.Participate in client meetings, business development, and strategic growth initiatives.Experience and QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities.Active PE license in MD, VA, and DC required.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and multidisciplinary project delivery.Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination.Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.Salary and BenefitsCommensurate with experience, target salary range: $150,000 – $180,000 annually.Hybrid schedule (2 days/week in-office in the Washington, DC area).Comprehensive benefits package.Leadership opportunity within a growing multidisciplinary practice.
