Sales Application Engineer
ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Sales Application Engineer for our avionics client in Wichita, KS. This person will serve as a key technical liaison between engineering teams, sales, and customers within the aerospace and avionics industry. This role is responsible for supporting both new product development and existing product programs, ensuring technical alignment, successful project execution, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will combine engineering expertise with strong program management skills to drive projects from proposal through delivery while collaborating across cross-functional teams.Skills and RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline2-4+ years of experience in the aerospace or aviation industryStrong program or project management experience with ability to manage timelines, cost, and scopeSolid understanding of electrical or electromechanical systems and productsExperience interfacing with cross-functional teams and external customersKnowledge of aviation certification processes (Type Certificates, STCs) and qualification standardsFamiliarity with industry standards such as DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, or MIL-STD-461Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersKey ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary technical interface between customers, sales account managers, and engineering teamsLead and support engineering programs including new product development and product qualification effortsDrive projects to meet technical requirements, timelines, and cost objectivesReview customer requirements and proposals to ensure technical compliance and feasibilityCompile, analyze, and present technical data and program updates to internal stakeholders and customersCollaborate with engineering teams and project managers to track progress and resolve technical challengesAct as a steward of intellectual property, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards
