Electrical Engineering Supervisor

iAutomation, a full-service automation company, developing robotic solutions and offering design, engineering, and integration (DE&I) services, product support, and production services, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineering Supervisor in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  The Electrical Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading the development and delivery of technical solutions that drive revenue growth while ensuring successful execution within plant operations. This role partners closely with sales teams and customers to understand operational challenges, develop value-driven solutions, and support the sales process from opportunity identification through project delivery. The supervisor oversees a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality technical proposals, accurate scope development, and efficient execution of billable work.  This position balances commercial and technical priorities by driving billable utilization, supporting business development efforts, and ensuring solutions are both technically sound and operationally effective. The role also maintains accountability for project performance, customer satisfaction, and alignment with safety, quality, and compliance standards, ultimately contributing to both revenue generation and long-term customer success.  Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of controls, electrical, and/or systems engineers  Manage workload planning, resource allocation, and project prioritization  Conduct performance management, goal setting, and career development planning  Support hiring, onboarding, and skill development (including cross-training)   Engineering Execution & Project Oversight Oversee design and execution of plant-level automation solutions, including:  Control systems (PLC/HMI/SCADA)  Drives and motion control systems  Electrical panel design and integration  Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards  Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation  Partner with Project Management to track milestones, risks, and deliverables  Maintains a working-level technical involvement as required, contributing directly to engineering activities during peak workloads, complex problem-solving, or critical project phases.  Standardization & Continuous Improvement Drive engineering standardization (templates, libraries, design practices)  Improve design efficiency, scalability, and repeatability across projects  Implement best practices for documentation, version control, and change management  Support Lean / continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and operations   Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Applications Engineering to support solution development and quoting  Collaborate with Manufacturing, Panel Build, and Field Service teams to ensure seamless execution  Act as a technical escalation point for complex applications and customer issues   Customer & Technical Leadership Provide technical oversight for complex or strategic customer projects  Participate in customer design reviews, troubleshooting, and solution validation  Ensure solutions meet customer specifications, safety standards, and industry requirements   Travel Requirements Up to 30% of travel, local and overnight required  Qualifications and Requirements Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration, and 2-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of:  PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)  Drives, motion control, and motor systems  Electrical design and panel integration  Industrial networks and plant-level architectures  Experience in engineered-to-order or custom automation environments Demonstrates broad knowledge of plant systems, strong troubleshooting capabilities across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines, and the ability to implement sustainable improvements that enhance system performance and reliability.  Leadership & Core Competencies Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams  Strong project management and organizational skills  Ability to balance technical depth with execution and delivery  Problem-solving mindset with strong decision-making capability  Effective communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders  Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations   Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time project delivery and engineering cycle time  Engineering quality (rework, error rates, customer feedback)  Team utilization, productivity and billable targets Standardization and efficiency improvements  Employee engagement and retention     Email resumes to Marna Perkins at mperkins@i-automation.com .Principals ONLY - No Third-Party Recruiters  iAutomation Supports Equal Opportunity Employment & Diversity. Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
