Our work environment includes: Modern office setting Food provided Shift: Days - 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (with call weekdays & weekends) On-call required: Yes - per unit needs. Duration: 13 weeks Experience: *minimum 2-3 years' preferred with emphasis in PACU surgery. Covid patients: Yes Charting system: EPIC Scrubs: Royal Blue Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting - Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their condition post-surgery - Administer medications and manage pain relief as needed - Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care - Assist with patient discharge planning and education - Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records (EMR) system - Adhere to infection control and safety protocols Skills: - Experience working with dermal fillers and performing ostomy care is preferred - Familiarity with ambulatory surgery center operations and workflows - Proficiency in coding and billing practices related to PACU services - Ability to provide specialized care for pediatric patients - Knowledge of Athenahealth or similar EMR systems - Competency in sonography for vascular access procedures - Understanding of sterile processing techniques and equipment management - Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) used in the PACU setting Licenses/Certifications: RN, ACLS, BLS & PALS Job Types: Contract, Travel nursing Pay: $58.00 per hour Physical Setting: Acute care Hospital PACU Ability to commute/relocate: Mesquite, TX: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: PACU: 2 years (Preferred) License/Certification: BLS Certification (Preferred) RN License (Preferred) ACLS Certification (Preferred) PALS Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
