Children's Behavior Interventionist (Human Services Degree or near Graduation)
Working together with Hinge Point Youth Homes to provide behavior intervention therapy to their residents who range in age from 7-17. All have a special need of some kind and a mental health challenge. Our core focus is to provide family focused residential treatment and care. By providing behavior intervention we are able to prepare these kids for a family. Without these skills taught studies show this population of children will not end up in a home. We have a high success rate of helping these children join a family.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet qualifications for specific services provided
Requires a Bachelors or Masters degree in a human services field, or be within 24 credit hours of completing a Bachelors degree in a human services field.
Human service degrees include: Family relations/family and child services, Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, Education/special education, Sociology, Child development/human development, Social work, Therapeutic recreation, Marriage and family therapy, Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, Speech language pathology/communication disorders, Art therapy, Dance therapy, Music therapy, Behavioral sciences/ABA.
If you do not have a degree in a human service field, you may qualify if you have 24 credits in the following areas: Child abuse, Case management, Conflict management, Drugs Alcohol/Addiction, Client and special populations, Cultural diversity, Health care to public, Ethics, Crisis Intervention, Or any courses associated with the degrees listed above.
Pay for technician level is $17. (within 24 credit hours of Bachelor's Degree)
Pay for specialist level is $24. (Bachelor's Degree)
Pay for professional level is $35. (Master's Degree)
Implement program implementation plans utilizing teaching techniques including shaping, chaining, differential reinforcement, modeling, prompting etc…
Engaging in accurate data collection to track progress associated with client outcomes.
Maintain HCBS settings standards, qualities, and safeguards to comply with regulations and participants’ preferences.
Receive instruction on the needs of participant
Demonstrate ability to provide services
Administer maladaptive behavior reduction procedures, de-escalation techniques, and redirection as needed
Obtain CPI, Non-violent Crisis Intervention training and appropriately utilize crisis intervention techniques
Develop, improve, and maintain the developmentally appropriate functional abilities and daily living skill needed by participant
Assistance with daily living skills may include, but are not limited to: Dressing, Toileting, Showering, Chores
Teach and coordinate methods of training with family members or others who regularly participate in caring for the participant.
Establish a positive relationship with persons in the home
Support and follow the direction of supervisor.
Assure compliance with and all other safety requirements.
Develop working relationship with other staff
Provide leadership to co-workers, model learned skills and give feedback as needed.
Assume responsibility for shift when designated to do so.
Problem-solve and make programmatic suggestions when appropriate.
Attend all trainings
Engage in supervision and feedback sessions pertinent to job performance
Participant in observations
Perform other duties as assigned.PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow service-specific rules
Become familiar with record keeping systems.
Collect service documentation.
Serve as a member of the team as needed.
Assist as designated by supervisor.
**Pay is based on education and years in the field.
