Contract through year-end with strong extension potential, and the kind of data engineering challenge that actually matters at scale.You'll design and own large-scale pipelines, drive ETL/ELT automation, and shape the data architecture decisions that power research, forecasting, and operational analytics across the organization.What you'll do:▸ Design and build enterprise data platforms, data lakes, and scalable pipeline frameworks▸ Automate ETL/ELT workflows and data integration solutions▸ Partner with analysts, researchers, and technical leads on data requirements▸ Drive on-prem to cloud migration efforts▸ Implement data governance, quality, and security best practicesWhat you need:▸ 7+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or database administration▸ Advanced SQL — PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL▸ Advanced Python and scripting for data engineering▸ Proven ETL/ELT design and automation at scale▸ Linux + GitHub or GitLab▸ BS in CS, IT, Engineering, or related field▸ U.S. Citizenship required — no exceptionsNice to have: Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, AWS Step Functions, Snowflake, AWS/Azure, CDC, CI/CD, NoSQL, ML/time-seriesWashington, DC — fully onsite (1709 New York Ave NW)PIV badge + background check requiredInterested or know someone who might be?
