This role is ideal for a critical thinker and patient-centered nurse passionate about cardiac care, interventional procedures, and delivering excellent outcomes in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.Position OverviewAs a Cath Lab RN, you will be an integral part of a specialized team that provides life-saving diagnostic and interventional cardiac care. From assisting with catheterizations and angioplasties to ensuring patients are safely monitored pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, you will utilize your clinical expertise and calm demeanor in high-stakes situations. Your contributions help prevent and treat some of the most serious cardiovascular conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver safe and effective nursing care throughout all phases of the cardiac catheterization processMonitor and assess patients' condition during diagnostic and interventional proceduresAdminister medications and moderate sedation under physician supervisionCollaborate with cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and cardiovascular technologistsPrepare patients and equipment, maintain sterile technique, and ensure adherence to procedure protocolsDocument care and procedural data accurately within electronic health records (EHR)Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and cardiac health managementParticipate in emergency procedures including STEMI activations and cardiac code responses Required QualificationsActive RN license in Iowa or multistate compact license authorizing Iowa practiceCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications - American Heart AssociationActive Iowa RT(R) license or Paramedic license in IowaMust hold one of the following credentials:American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)Certified Paramedic License in Iowa Preferred Skills & ExperiencePrevious Cath Lab or interventional radiology nursing experience preferredStrong knowledge of cardiac medications, electrophysiology, and hemodynamic monitoringAbility to remain composed under pressure and respond quickly to emergent situationsCompetency with digital imaging, EPIC or similar EHR systems, and cath lab monitoring equipment Why This Role?Contribute to life-saving cardiovascular care in an advanced interventional suiteCollaborate with a high-performing multidisciplinary team focused on quality outcomesGrow your clinical skillset in a technologically advanced environmentEnjoy Ottumwa's low cost of living, supportive community, and outdoor recreation opportunities
