QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skills.Job SummaryQSAC is looking for a detailed and dedicated Medical Coordinator as part of the Nursing team. You will be responsible for securing and tracking medical appointments, orders and medication availability and record maintenance.The hourly rate for this position is $18.00-19.00.ResponsibilitiesAppointment Scheduling & Medication InventorySchedule all medical, lab and specialty medical appointmentsEnsure all medication orders are current and accurately recorded and only available to authorized staffComplete inventory of medications weekly to ensure adequate supplyObtain results for all lab work and specialty appointments in a timely fashionNotify residence and day program of any medication changesUpdate medical consults with all pertinent informationDisseminates information to colleagues and/or staff as appropriateSubmit monthly calendar of appointments, in a timely fashion, for family notificationMay be required to report to alternate work location (e.g. Hospital, Dr.'s Office etc.)Policies & ConfidentialityMaintain individual/family confidentialityAttend all trainings and in services providedCommitment to QSAC values and adherence to policies and proceduresDemonstrate professional demeanor and strict privacy on all medical concernsPerform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior managementEnsure health, safety & welfare of individualsQualifications and Work ExperienceHigh School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required1- 2 years' work experience in medical field highly preferred1-2 years' work experience in an Administrative/Office role requiredValid NYS driver's license in good standing is requiredCPR/First Aid, AMAP & SCIP-R, Driver training certifications necessaryStrong computer literacy skills requiredFluency in medical terminology useful, but not mandatoryAbility to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb itemsMust be able to communicate effectively with others and individuals servedValid driver's license in good standing requiredFlexibility and collaboration is essentialAbility to run if neededBenefitsQSAC's benefits are amazing and go beyond health and retirement.
