Upholsterer( Assembler)
Position DescriptionDescriptionThe candidate should be able to perform various Upholstery activities like: Remove, install, Rework, Adjust leather or fabric covers on all the different components from the seats/Divans. The experience could be relative from any of the following industries (automotive, furniture or boating etc.).Upholsterers are responsible for fabricating custom designs made out of fabric and other materials. Work for various industries, such as aircraft production. The work involves cutting, measuring, and sewing. Skilled at reading patterns and working with industrial sewing machines and other equipment such as grommet machines, heat seal machines, and more. It is highly repetitive production work that requires precision and a good eye for detail.CORE TASKSsewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed)needle prepping and joiningcreating and cutting patternsinspecting product for defects, damage, or stainsmarking products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying informationcomparing physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standardsInterpreting cover patterns to perform sewing functionsCut leather and fabric as needed using patternsPrepare sewing pieces for Master SeamstressSew leather and fabric dress coves with very high precision and very high quality expectationsOperator needs to be able to perform top stitch (single and double) on leather and fabricEssential duties and responsibilities include the followingWorks from production/assembly instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions and notes to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components.Identifies and selects components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units.Utilizes small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.Perform other duties as required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Minimum of one year related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
