PLC Programmer (Contractor)

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PLC Programmer (Contractor). You will be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems that drive manufacturing processes and robotic automation. Your expertise will help optimize production efficiency, ensure seamless integration of industrial controls, and support robotics systems including Epson and Kuka other industrial robotic platforms. Responsibilities Program, configure, and troubleshoot Epson and KUKA industrial robots. Develop and modify robot programs for automated manufacturing and production equipment. Program and troubleshoot PLC control systems and integrate PLCs with robotic equipment. Integrate robots with sensors, vision systems, conveyors, servos, HMIs, safety systems, and other automation equipment. Develop and troubleshoot robot-to-PLC communication and I/O. Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or other applicable protocols. Perform robot teaching, setup, calibration, tool and coordinate-frame configuration, and motion optimization. Diagnose and resolve robot, PLC, electrical, communication, and automation-related problems. Support machine startup, commissioning, testing, and production troubleshooting. Optimize robot programs and automation sequences for cycle time, reliability, and repeatability. Modify and troubleshoot HMI screens and operator controls as required. Read and interpret electrical schematics, I/O drawings, and machine documentation. Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to troubleshoot and improve automated equipment. Document program changes, system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and commissioning activities. Follow applicable machine safety requirements and established safety procedures. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience programming KUKA and/or Epson industrial robots. Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience. Experience integrating robots with PLCs and automated production equipment. Experience with industrial networking and robot/PLC communications. Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control panels and machine I/O. Experience with machine commissioning and startup. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems in a production environment. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other major PLC platforms is a plus.
