Roger Williams UniversityTitle:Lecturer for WritingLocation:Bristol, RICategory:FacultyPosted On:Fri Mar 13 2026Job DescriptionThe Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition at Roger Williams University invites applications for a renewable appointment at the rank of Lecturer, to begin Fall 2026. We deliver a two-semester general education writing program with a focus on academic, professional, and public writing. We are particularly interested in candidates with commitments to first-year writing. There may also be additional opportunities to teach outside the department in the first-year and senior-seminar general education program.All candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogies, a willingness to maintain disciplinary currency, and the ability to serve at the department, institution and/or community levels. Teaching load is 4/4.Review of applications will begin in mid-March, with interviews conducted in April.Job RequirementsSignificant teaching experience in first-year composition or other general education writing courses.
