Lead Electrical Estimator

About the Role:The Lead Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in the successful bidding and execution of electrical construction projects by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. This position requires leading the estimation process from initial project review through to final bid submission, ensuring all electrical components are thoroughly analyzed and accounted for. The Lead Electrical Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary data and validate assumptions, thereby minimizing risk and maximizing profitability. This role demands a strategic thinker who can interpret complex project documents, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing and industry trends. Ultimately, the Lead Electrical Estimator ensures that the company submits competitive, realistic bids that align with client expectations and company financial goals.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.Proven experience leading estimation teams and managing complex electrical project bids.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor costs, and industry standards.Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or similar platforms. Preferred Qualifications:Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent.Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and integrated project delivery methods.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and project management software.Strong negotiation skills and experience working directly with clients and subcontractors. Responsibilities:Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop detailed electrical cost estimates.Lead and coordinate the estimation team to ensure timely and accurate bid preparation.Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to obtain pricing and technical information.Prepare comprehensive bid proposals including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies within the estimate.Maintain and update historical cost data and estimation databases for future projects.Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to clarify project requirements and resolve estimation issues.Support project managers during the transition from estimation to project execution to ensure scope and budget alignment.Skills:
