Traveling SuperintendentThe Traveling Superintendent leads all on-site activities for commercial construction projects from mobilization through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This role coordinates subcontractors and field teams across multiple sites, maintains clear communication with project stakeholders, and proactively resolves field issues while upholding strict safety and compliance requirements.ResponsibilitiesLead all on-site construction activities from initial mobilization through project closeout for commercial projects.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient and effective site operations.Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards at all times.Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are consistently achieved.Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain seamless communication and alignment on project goals.Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality of work, and compliance with plans and specifications.Identify, troubleshoot, and proactively resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays to keep projects on track.Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and project documentation for site activities and progress.Manage site logistics, including planning and coordinating materials, equipment, and manpower needs.Ensure all workmanship meets established quality standards and contractual requirements.Facilitate project meetings, including subcontractor coordination meetings and safety meetings, to align all stakeholders.Support project closeout activities, including punch list management, corrective work, and final inspections.Essential Skills5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar field leadership role in commercial construction.Proven experience managing multi-site or travel-based construction assignments.Strong knowledge of construction methods, commercial construction practices, and scheduling principles.Thorough understanding of safety regulations and OSHA requirements.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents.Demonstrated experience in construction supervision and subcontractor management.Ability to build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships.Excellent leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate field teams.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced field environment.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with project teams and clients.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and sites.Experience with commercial construction, including ground-up and retail projects.Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools (preferred).OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain this certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground in construction management or related construction disciplines.Experience working with general contractors on commercial and retail projects.Ability to travel regularly and manage responsibilities across multiple project locations.Comfort working with digital plans and documentation for blueprint reading and project coordination.Commitment to maintaining strong, professional relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.Work EnvironmentThis role is field-based and requires frequent travel to various commercial construction sites, including ground-up and retail projects. The Traveling Superintendent works primarily on active job sites, overseeing daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and managing site logistics. The environment involves regular exposure to outdoor conditions, active construction activities, and the need to navigate partially completed structures. Work hours may extend beyond a standard schedule to meet project milestones and address on-site needs, including early mornings or occasional weekends as required by project demands. The position relies on the use of construction management software, scheduling tools, and digital plans to coordinate work and track progress. Appropriate construction-site attire and personal protective equipment are required in accordance with safety standards and OSHA regulations.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maple Grove, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
