Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging procedures when necessary for comprehensive patient assessments.
Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow within the clinic.
Assist with dental documentation and coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and record-keeping.
Stay informed about advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners and digital imaging tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
Skills
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and the operation of 3D scanners is highly desirable.
Excellent understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy standards during all aspects of patient care.
Knowledge of medical terminology and coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation processes.
