CMM Programmer

Terms: 6 Months Contract Location: Mesa AZOne of our leading Aerospace cleint is seeking a CMM Programmer/Quality Test Specialist to support the Vertical Lift team. This role focuses on CMM programming, dimensional inspection, and advanced metrology to ensure high-quality aerospace components.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, validate, and execute CMM inspection routines for machined and composite partsPerform first article (FAI), in-process, and audit inspectionsUse CMM, laser tracker, on-machine probing, and hand measurement toolsReview and verify NC/CMM programs for accuracy and repeatabilityInterpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principlesDocument measurement results and generate inspection reportsCommunicate findings to engineering and manufacturing teamsPerform basic calibration checks and coordinate formal calibration activitiesTrain and mentor operators/inspectors on CMM and measurement best practicesEscalate complex quality issues as neededRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in CMM programming and dimensional inspectionStrong experience with GD&T and engineering drawing interpretationExperience using laser trackers, probing systems, or similar metrology toolsProficiency with hand measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing/shop floor environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications5+ years of related experienceExperience with PC-DMIS or similar CMM softwareAbility to create CMM programs from CAD modelsExperience with composite and metallic part inspectionPrior experience mentoring or training othersIdeal CandidateA hands-on CMM programmer/inspector with strong GD&T expertise, comfortable working on the shop floor, and experienced in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments.
