Building Supervisor
Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:The Building Supervisor is responsible to ensure a safe, clean, well-maintained and friendly environment for members to enjoy. In the absence of a professional staff person, he/she will be directly responsible for the entire branch facility including the parking lot area, security of the building and general well being of the members. He/She will reflect and display the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, the four core values of character development.Job FunctionsProgram/Department Responsibilities:Be informed of all current and/or upcoming programs and special events in order to interpret Old Colony Y membership and program information to members and potential members to increase their participation in each areaProvide tours to potential new members explaining the facility policy information, and membership rates, promoting various programs and membershipsAdhere to OCY emergency procedures, including notification of appropriate professional staff person(s)Make continuous rounds on an hourly basis, throughout all areas of the building to make one-self visible and available to members in all parts of the facility, including management and control of the OCY Aquatics Check-List.Ensure all requests, comments and/or complaints are immediatelyaddressed, or are referred to the supervisor and/or the appropriate staff personEnsure that facility is completely empty at closing and properly closed in all program areasAssist with Welcome Desk responsibilities in order to increase customer service with facility access. Supervision of PersonnelBuilding Supervisor will manage employees to assure they adhere to the following: All employees must honor the OCY Dress Code Policy. All employees must be present at work and on time. All employees are responsible for their job duties, following the protocols on their own job descriptions. Fiscal ResponsibilityNone Facility/Housekeeping ResponsibilitiesEnsure a safe environment for all membersAssist when needed in preparing for class and program setup to include but not be limited to clearing out gym/program space, setting up equipment, moving fans and cleaning gym floorDuring scheduled rounds of the building, be responsible for picking up the locker rooms, basketballs, laundering towels, and any other duties that require attentionAdhere to facility closing procedures to include locking all doors, closing windows, turning off lights, inspecting and shutting down saunas and steam rooms, securing pool and returning all used towels to the laundry receptaclesEnsure that free weight room (fitness center) is properly picked up in accordance with the system set by your supervisorBe responsible for cleaning all recreation and gym floors as assigned (prior to all classes, programs or special events)Adhere to facility opening procedures, to include unlocking doors, turning on lights, starting up Y-connect to ensure accurate usage numbers, checking equipment and ensuring overall facility cleanlinessDuring inclement weather, make sure the front and back walks are shoveled and salted/de-iced. Ensure members have safe access to and from the Y and the parking lotsRequirementsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Minimums):High School Diploma or equivalentCurrent CPR (provided)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Must be able to walk up and down stairs
