Paralegal: Fiduciary / Estates & Trust LitigationSilverman Thompson, a Baltimore-based mid-sized litigation firm, is seeking a civil paralegal to support our fiduciary litigation practice in our Inner Harbor office. This role requires substantive involvement in case preparation, client interaction, document drafting, and procedural management. Must be able to be the primary liaison between supervising attorneys, clients, financial advisors, and area wide Probate/Orphan Court Register of Wills and personnel.The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, and anticipate attorney needs across fast-moving estate administration matters. Key ResponsibilitiesProbate Filing & Administration: Draft discovery templates and assist with discovery requestsReview all filings for accuracy and ensure all filings have the required notices to the court and comply with state and local rulesConduct due diligence and identify issues that require attorney attentionCase Development:Identify, gather, and value estate assets, coordinating directly with appraisers and financial institutionsReviewing financial records, organizing disclosures, preparing exhibits, and summarizing evidenceMaintain meticulous financial records of estates and trusts to prepare formal filings for court approvalManage deadlines and docketing for hearings, mediation, and trial preparationClient Communication: Serve as a compassionate, professional point of contact for grieving families and sophisticated clients during sensitive legal proceedingsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel to gather information and coordinate case activitySpeak in a professional manner with clients, lenders, agents, and/or vendors to provide quality service and answer basic procedural inquiriesQualificationsMinimum of a bachelor’s degree and/or a certificate in paralegal studiesMid-level paralegal experience, ideally in a litigation firmDeep familiarity with the Maryland Code provisions relating to estates, trusts, and local county Orphans' Court procedures3 to 5 years of dedicated experience handling large, complex estates specifically under Maryland lawDemonstrated ability to independently manage deadlines, filings, and procedural stepsA strong understanding of legal language, principles, and research methodsComfortable managing multiple cases and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong drafting, writing, and analytical skillsProficiency with case management software, e-filing platforms, and document management toolsBenefitsCompetitive compensation (commensurate with experience)100% paid health benefits with options for dental and vision supplements 401k & profit sharing Newly renovated downtown Baltimore offices, including an in-house fitness center Free parking at the Inner HarborProfessional development opportunitiesMonthly team-building activities, from Orioles games to waterfront happy hours and intramural sportsSalary: $60,000 - $80,000/yearPlease submit a resume and personal statement to: jobinquiry@silvermanthompson.comApplicants MUST apply through jobinquiry@silvermanthompson.com to be considered.
