Safety Coordinator

Position PurposeThe Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Ambler Metals' safety programs at the Bornite Camp. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; promotes a strong safety culture; and provides training, oversight, and guidance to personnel and contractors. The position is essential to maintaining a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment during seasonal field operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Development and ImplementationCollaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and proceduresMaintain current knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and best practicesCoordinate site safety programs to promote a safe and compliant working environmentIdentify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health issuesTraining and CompetencyWork with supervisors to ensure personnel are trained to safely perform duties and identify hazardsEnsure SOPs and JHAs are completed and documentedDevelop and deliver site‐wide, departmental, and individual safety trainingResearch, procure, and provide appropriate safety training and PPEInspections, Audits and Risk ManagementConduct continuous workplace and operational safety inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsPerform inspections of exploration drill rigsImplement a proactive hazard reporting program and resolve or escalate issues as appropriateIncident ManagementFacilitate and document incident and near‐miss investigationsDetermine causes and corrective actionsEnsure corrective actions from investigations, audits, and improvement plans are implemented and effectiveCompile and submit health and safety reports, including leading and lagging indicatorsEnsure timely notification to Senior Management, regulatory agencies, and employees regarding serious incidentsSystems and DocumentationManage the company EHS software system and train personnel in its useTrack safety training and recommend revisions or updates to programsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, and recordkeeping requirementsCommunication and CollaborationCommunicate safety information to all levels of the organizationWork proactively with contractors to ensure alignment with Ambler Metals' safety programsSupport a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHealth and Safety Technician or Safety Professional certification preferredOSHA‐authorized Construction or General Industry Trainer preferredAt least 3 years of experience facilitating safety programs, preferably in remote camps or worksitesCurrent CPR and First Aid certification40‐Hour HAZWOPER training preferredValid Driver License requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of safety protocols and applicable OSHA standardsStrong understanding of company safety policiesAbility to work effectively in a team setting and lead when necessaryExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to conduct trainingAbility to be flexible and adaptable to changeKnowledge of safe remote operational proceduresAbility to deal tactfully with staff, contractors, and visitorsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work for extended periods in a remote location with exposure to inclement weatherAbility to travel on foot in rugged terrain and throughout camp; occasional helicopter and fixed‐wing travelWorking ConditionsSeasonal position with a rotational schedule anticipated from May through SeptemberStart date in Q1 2026 to prepare for the field programRemote camp environment with exposure to snow, rain, wind, and extreme temperaturesTravel to worksites may require helicopter or fixed‐wing aircraftRegular movement on foot across rugged terrainReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or activities required.
