Press Set-Up Technician

(pay rate based on experience)Position Summary:Set up and operate one or more automatic presses, compacting presses or four slides to punch, notch, pierce, slot, blank and form a variety of products. Follow instructions for methods of operating presses. Check work with micrometer and other measuring instruments and fixed gauges to check dimension to tolerances.Responsibilities:Set up and operate one or more presses, spot welders and tapping machines. May perform bench operations using hand-held equipmentMay use punch press, degreaser, welders, pneumatic and/or foot presses, optical comparator scales, micrometers, fixed gauges, templates, torque wrenches, verniers, calipers, thread comparator, plug and ring gaugesPerform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduledMaintain acceptable level of housekeeping order and cleanliness in areaWear all required PPE at all timesPerform other related duties as requiredEducation and Experience:High School or Equivalency DiplomaBasic Shop MathAbility to read and understand written instructions in EnglishAbility to use handheld measurement instrumentsExperience operating continuous metal strip processing equipment preferredPowered by JazzHRzQpFEtKRPh
