(Available through several CTE course avenues.)Fulfill all state requirements for the Career Preparation program.The mission of this roleProvide students with opportunities for obtaining experience and developing skills related to anticipated careers through on-the-job training at businesses and industries working in cooperation with career and technical education programs in the schools. In addition to skill development, considerable emphasis is placed on the development of good work habits, responsibility, character, and leadership.The primary reason for the existence of the various career preparation programs is for career preparation, not just providing part-time jobs.What success looks like for this roleCoordinate and teach Career Preparation Program.Develop training partnerships with business and industry.Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects as required by law, District policy, or administrative regulations.Integrate academic skills and critical thinking skills for a complete understanding of the functions of business and the implications for personal life skills.Interact effectively with students to promote positive attitudes toward programs.Encourage student participation and involvement in organized youth leadership development activities and organizations.Exhibit and encourage high professional and ethical standards.Maintain a positive image of CTE Career Programs with community, business, and industry.Work with CTE Program and Curriculum Specialists to revise and refine curriculum for the Career Preparation Program.Attend Career Preparation Program meetings as needed.Potential leadership opportunities in this roleApproval of all student training stations.
