Director of Facilities & Transportation-Immediate Opening
Immediate Opening: Director of Facilities and Transportation, Full-time, 12 months, Exempt (salaried)Annual Salary Range $60,000-$75,000Barnesville School is seeking and enthusiastic and experienced Facilities Director. The Director of Facilities & Transportation interacts positively with every department serving a vital customer service role responsible for planning, communication, facilitation, oversight, and coordination of preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, renovation, and new construction; supporting on-site campus events, and presentation of all buildings and grounds. Additionally, they actively plan, organize and supervise the work and driving routes of school drivers for the safe transportation of students; assign work schedules and review and approve time sheets; train and/or oversee training of departmental employees. This is a supervisory role.Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening along with a criminal background check including fingerprints is a requirement.Duties & Responsibilities:Overseeing routine maintenance activities like cleaning, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules.Managing contracts and cultivating relationships with external vendors for maintenance services; collaborating with the School's business office for approval and payment of related invoices.Monitoring building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) to identify potential issuesDeveloping and managing the facilities budget including costs for maintenance, repairs, utilities, and staff.Analyzing expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.Conducting regular safety inspections and addressing safety concerns both with the school buildings and transportation vehicles.Implementing emergency response plans and procedures.Overseeing renovation, construction, and improvement projects within the facility.Managing project timelines, budgets, and contractor relationships.Successfully passing ongoing random drug screenings throughout employment.Driving field trips, sporting events, and bus routes as necessary.Motivating, hiring, training, and supervising facility staff including maintenance technicians and transportation drivers.Evaluating staff performance and addressing performance issues.Assessing current facility needs and developing long-term facility plans.Identifying opportunities to improve facility efficiency and space utilization.Communicating with other departments to address facility needs and coordinate maintenance activities.Collaborating with the executive team regarding facility-related projects and decisions.Skills & Experience : Must hold a valid driver's license and posess a satisfactory past driving record. A strong understanding of building systems and maintenance practices; experience with budgeting and financial management; project management expertise; leadership and supervisory abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance standards, the ability to foster positive internal and external relationships is a requirement.Education: A bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field is preferable.
