Navy Systems Engineer

They will be able to clearly define and clearly articulate compelling solutions and will require an ability to quickly assimilate and apply complex technical information.Kitty Hawk Technologies is currently seeking a Navy Systems Engineer with five (5) or more years of experience supporting DoD Systems Engineering activities in Dahlgren, Virginia. Key Responsibilities: Works as part of a team to support a Navy weapon system engineering effortSupports the development of systems engineering documentation including Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), System Requirements Documents (SRD), Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrices (RTVMs), Configuration Management Plans (CMP), and other systems engineering artifactsSupports the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process by preparing for and supporting Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and other events throughout the life cycle of the programLeverages model-based systems engineering (MBSE) wherever possible to develop engineering artifacts (requirements, architecture, interfaces)Supports Risk Management efforts to identify, analyze, and minimize programmatic and technical risksPrepares technical presentations, briefings, and papers to support program status updates to sponsorsRequired Qualifications:Five (5) years of experience in Systems Engineering related to US Navy or DoD weapon or combat systemsBachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical disciplineActive Secret clearance – U.S. Citizenship is requiredExperience with concept development, design and development of system architecture, systems hardware, and software design and developmentExperience with MBSE using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler, Innoslate, or Enterprise Architect to develop architectures, requirements, and interfacesExperience generating systems engineering requirements for artifacts such as System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Subsystem Requirements Documents (SSRDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)Experience supporting Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Events, including Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), System Functional Review (SFR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR)Experience with DoD Risk Management practicesExperience with configuration management, cyber security, safety, and/or combat system certification processesDesired Skills: Master’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical disciplineCertified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) CertificationActive Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for SCI or active TS/SCIExperience with Systems of Systems (SoS) developmentKnowledge of Naval Surface Warfare programsKnowledge of directed energy weapon systemsExperience conducting trouble report tracking, test and evaluation of system performance, and documentation of test resultsKnowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniquesHands on experience with Cameo Systems ModelerExperience using the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira for requirements, Zephyr for test case development, and Confluence for data reporting)Experience with Navy Surface Ship weapons integration requirementsExperience conducting configuration management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and combat systems certification activitiesWork Posture:Must be committed to working on-site at the Kitty Hawk King George,VA office or government customer facility.
