BMS/EPMS Datacenter Commissioning Engineer (Harahan)

We are looking for a driven Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of high-performance industrial automation systems. In this role, you will architect scalable, mission-critical software solutions that address complex client requirements and push the boundaries of modern automation. The ideal candidate brings a versatile background in systems integration and experience with data center infrastructure. While we don't expect mastery of every platform, we are seeking a self-motivated professional who can navigate diverse automation technologies to deliver innovative, reliable results.What You Will Be Doing● Design and develop SCADA systems using various software suites, including System Platform,AVEVA (Wonderware) Historian, Ignition SCADA, etc.● Configure and program SCADA software to monitor and control various industrial processes,such as manufacturing, energy, mining, and utilities.● Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand systemrequirements and develop solutions that align with their needs.● Install, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA software and related components such as PLCs,ensuring proper integration with existing infrastructure.● Integrate SCADA systems with historians (e.g., AVEVA/OSI PI, Wonderware, AVEVA) for dataacquisition, analysis, and reporting purposes.● Develop custom scripts using scripting languages (e.g., .NET, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, etc.)to enhance system functionality and performance.● Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure the accurate functioning of SCADAsystems, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise.● Perform system upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry best practices and ensuringminimal disruption to operations.● Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, troubleshooting system issues, andoffering timely resolutions.● Participate in training to stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in SCADAtechnologies.What You Need for this Position● BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.● Experience deploying SCADA systems in Data Center environments● Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and integrating with different data sources.● Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.● Experience in programming languages such as JavaScript, Visual Basic, or C#.● Familiar with operational data historians (e.g., AVEVA, Wonderware, OSI PI, etc.).● Experience configuring and troubleshooting industry standard communication protocols such asModbus, OPC UA/DA, DNP3, and TCP/IP.● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively withcross-functional teams and clients.● Willingness to travel to customer sites if needed. Engineers may need to travel up to 50% in the future for customer meetings or deployments. The majority of projects will be in the Gulf Coast region.
