Salary Range: $4 /hour DOEWe do offer the option of an Alternative Work Schedule (4/10 scheduling with a rotating day off), if desired. More information available during interview. Key Responsibilities:Taking and monitoring vital signsAdministration of medication and/or immunizationsHCG urine tests, glucose and any other tests needed for patientUrinary catheter insertion or irrigationSuctioning of trach patientsStarting of an IVPreparation of skin for procedures including but not limited to cleaning and shaving of skinCleaning and disinfecting of instruments or equipment according to standardized proceduresProviding patient education regarding diagnosis or guidelines for preparations of proceduresAssisting the RN with gathering medical records and handling clinic tasksAssisting with minor office proceduresInputs, retrieves, and interprets data from multiple manual and computer information systemsUtilizes critical thinking skills to recognize and solve patient problemsCollaborates with the medical staff to facilitate and optimize patient careDocumenting patient care in electronic medical recordAnswering messages and returning phone callsSpecific duties may vary depending on assignment and scopeRequirements:Required Skills:Ability to respond to acute emergency situations following established proceduresAdvanced Computer skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skillsMust be flexible and have a strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills Ability to apply good Clinical judgment Ability to plan work, establish priorities, and remain flexible Ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent knowledge of medical terminology Previous use of electronic medical record systems Qualifications/Experience/Education:Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Certification Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers One to three years LVN experience in related clinical settings (preferred)Experience in an oncology setting (preferred)Ambulatory care/Physician office experience California Protons Cancer Therapy Center is following all federal and state mandates.
