Responsible for supervising and coordinating construction activities of assigned task to ensure work is completed in a safe, quality and productive manner on the job.ResponsibilitiesPromote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures and lead team to do the sameLeads a team of 1-5 workers in the safe and productive construction activitiesEnsure that the workers under them do their job skillfully and efficientlyMake certain the assigned work progresses on schedule Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns dutiesRecommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product and suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crewDeal with the routing of material and equipment and with the laying out of the areas of workRecommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measuresMay train new workers and also assist in jobsite orientationMaintain time and production recordsMay confer with jobsite superintendent and/or Foreman to coordinate activities of individual projectsMay complete required Equipment Maintenance report and Equipment/Materials transfer reportsPreplanning daily activities and monitoring tasksComplete required daily project reportsMonitor small tooling maintenance and storage and site materialsComplete required employee documentation when requiredRequired to travel to different jobsites on a limited noticeQualificationsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one or more years’ of related experience in constructionOr equivalent combination of training and experienceKnowledge, Skills And Abilities RequiredTake reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principlesRead blueprints skillfullyMust possess strong communication and management skillsAbility to work well under pressure and work within timelinesRead, comprehend and write simple instructions, short correspondence and memosPresent information in small group situations to customers and other employeesAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio and percent and draw and interpret bar graphsApply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram formMasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
