Structured Cabling Installer II (Level 3)

Job Description TekCom Resources is seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Installer II (Level 3) to support commercial structured cabling and network infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for a technician with strong copper installation experience who can independently manage small scopes of work, perform advanced terminations/testing, and help lead junior installers in the field. The Installer II (Level 3) will be responsible for advanced copper cabling installation, rack build-outs, backbone cabling, pathway infrastructure, documentation, and assisting with project coordination while maintaining high-quality workmanship and professionalism on active jobsites. ResponsibilitiesOwn and execute small project scopes independentlyInstall backbone copper cabling and pathway supportsPerform advanced copper terminations and testingBuild, mount, and dress racks to professional standardsTroubleshoot basic structured cabling issuesUnderstand grounding and bonding fundamentalsAssist with material planning, staging, and countsTrain and mentor Installer I technicians and helpersRead and interpret drawings, cable schedules, and project documentationCommunicate professionally with General Contractors, customers, and project leadershipMaintain accurate labeling, documentation, and jobsite photosSupport entry-level fiber handling and infrastructure activities ExpectationsDeliver clean, organized, and professional installationsComplete assigned scopes with minimal punch-list or reworkDemonstrate leadership and ownership on active projectsMaintain high-quality documentation and labeling standardsFollow safety standards and structured cabling best practicesOperate independently on most project scopes within the first 30-60 days Top Skills Needed: Structured cabling installation, backbone copper cabling, rack buildouts and cable management, Advanced copper terminations, testing and troubleshooting, grounding and bonding fundamentals, documentation and material tracking, Leadership and jobsite coordination.
