Configuration Management SpecialistCrystal City, VAPay From: $110,000 per yearMUST:Experienced Configuration ManagerActive DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI4+ years of experience in configuration management in a Federal or DoD environmentExperience with change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits in complex IT systemsExperience with CM configuration identification, CM baselining, and CM governanceHands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Jira, Git, SCCM, or similar)Strong understanding of CM process and proper technical documentationExcellent communication skills both written and verbalHigh attention to details and solid documentation skillsCurrent ITILv3 or ITILv4 certification strongly desiredBachelor s Degree in science, engineering, business management, mathematics or computer scienceDUTIES:The ideal candidate will help with the managing of configuration control processes, ensuring the integrity of technical documentation and software, and coordinating all aspects of the configuration management lifecycleWork with the team to define and enforce processes for configuration identification, change management, and configuration audits across the project lifecycleCollaborate with stakeholders to assess configuration management needs and propose solutions to ensure consistency and control in the configuration processWork with the team to define and maintain a system for configuration identification of all project deliverables (documents, software, hardware, etc.) throughout the lifecycleEstablish and document a naming convention, version control, and baseline procedures to ensure proper tracking and control of configuration items (CIs)Coordinate with product teams to identify and classify the components that will be managed under configuration controlUse the procedures created by the team to produce documents, software, hardware, and related configurationsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of configuration items, including their status, configuration history, and current configurationsTrack and report on the progress of configuration management activities, ensuring compliance with the configuration management plan and customer requirementsWork closely with engineering, development, and testing teams to ensure proper configuration management practices are followed throughout the project lifecycleCommunicate with stakeholders, including government representatives and subcontractors, to ensure alignment on configuration management policies and proceduresProvide guidance and training to team members and project personnel on configuration management processes and best practicesIdentify opportunities for process improvements and propose enhancements to existing configuration management practicesQuadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
