Secondary Special Education English or Social Studies Teacher
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan lessons, deliver high quality instruction, grade student work, maintain a record of grades, correspond with parents and effectively communicate with students
Ensure awareness of and compliance with student IEPs
Utilize curriculum resources and differentiate instruction to meet learner support needs
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
Deliver instruction and provide support for student social emotional learning
Prepare for and participate in student CSE meetings to facilitate student progress and aide in the identification of plans to address student support needs
Access and competently utilize IEP program to progress monitor for student goals and for IEP completion
Attend and participate in Special Education Department meetings and complete required Professional Development
Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
Preferred knowledge of transition services and processes.
Collaborate with general education teachers to design and implement inclusive instructional practices that support access to grade-level standards.
Implement research-based reading and writing interventions to support students with diverse learning needs.
